Food was always a prime aspect of our cultural inheritance. While I am sharing Chicken Do Pyaza Recipe with you all I should mention little bit history of this popular dish.
History of Chicken Do Pyaza Recipe
Dopiaza is the original name of this dish and it is originated in Afghanistan and later Mughals introduces it in South east Asia so this recipe is famous in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries of Asia. Now Chicken Do Pyaza Recipe or Murg Do Pyaza has become a staple of Mughal cuisine.
By the name of the recipe anyone can understand that this is a onion based recipe. To be precise in this chicken recipes ratio of onions to chicken is 2:1 that’s why some people also called it chicken 2 pyaza.
Through the time the Dish evolved and presently we have many different recipe for Chicken Do Pyaza but like always I am sharing the most easiest recipe with you all. You can serve with rice also but it will taste yum with roti or naan.

How to Marinate chicken: 1tsp ginger garlic paste 1tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp salt Mix it well n keep aside for 15 to 20 min
Curd mixture: Take 4 tsp curd in a bowl and whisk it well. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder,1 tsp chilli powder,1 tsp cumin powder and 1 tsp coriander powder .Mix it well.
Heat 4 to 5 tsp oil in a pan.
Add Chopped onion and fry until it turns brown.
Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.Stir it well and fry for 1 min.
Add curd mixture.Cook for few minutes
Now add tomato puree and fry till oil separates.
Add chicken pieces and Cook in high flame for few minutes.
Add 1/2 tsp garam masala powder.Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes in medium flame.
Now Add 1 cup hot water .Cover and cook for 10 min in low heat and add Salt as per taste.
Add onion cubes and green chili and cook for 2-3 mins
Add tomato cubes and 1 pinch kasuri methi.Cook for 3 to 4 min.
Garnish as per your choice. Serve hot .
