Chanar pantua is a traditional bengali sweet made from chana or chenna. I have made this recipe with just few ingredients like homemade chenna from cow’s milk ,maida and ghee. Chanar Pantua is similar to Gulab Jamun .This recipe gives you an authentic chanar pantua in bengali style.
Ingredients
Directions

Take the chenna/ paneer in a mixing bowl or plate. Add 3 tbsp maida and 2 tsp sugar and knead it for 7 to 8 mins to make it smooth.

Add 1 tsp ghee/claified butter and knead it well. Dough should be smooth. If the dough is hard then you can add some milk into it to make it smooth.

Divide the dough into equal portions.

Take each portion and roll it between your palms to make them smooth and round shaped balls.

Heat the oil in a pan. Now deep fry them in a low heat till golden brown. After 15 seconds flip and keep stirring while frying until golden brown.

In the meantime let's make the sugar syrup. Take 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Bring it to boil till it becomes one string consistency. You can add cardamom for flavor. Remove it from the flame and keep it aside.

Once the pantua turn golden brown take them out and switch off the flame. Immediately put it into the sugar syrup. Let them soak for atleast 4 to 5 hours.

After 5 hours chanar pantua is ready to serve.
