Chanar Jilipi | Chanar Jilapi | Bengali Chanar Jilipi Recipe | Paneer Jalebi
is very popular Bengali Sweets made from Chana or Paneer of full cream milk using all purpose flour or maida and semolina or suji. Here I have given step by step process of making this ‘ Bangali’s Praner mishti ‘ Chanar jilipi using homemade paneer.
Ingredients
Directions

Take the chana or paneer in a plate and knead it for couple of minutes to make it smooth.

Add 4tsp Maida or all purpose flour, Sugar 1/2 tsp, a pich of Baking Soda, 1/2 tsp of Semolina (Suji), 1/2 tsp Ghee or Clarified butter. Mix it well and knead it for at least 7 to 8 mins.

Divide this well kneaded Chenna dough in equal portions. Take each Chana ball and roll it over a plate or on your clean kitchen surface. Each ball will become 4 to 5 inch long uniform Cylindrical shape. Now holding the edges of each cylinders give them a shape of Jilipi. If you found any crack then press that area gently.

Take sufficient oil in a frying pan for deep fry. When oil will be heated fry these Jilipi in medium low flame. Keep frying in low flame and flip the jilipi to fry the other side of it. It takes 7 - 8 mins to fry the both side properly and when it's done keep it out of the oil.
Let's make the sugar syrup. Take one cup of sugar in a bowl and add 2 cups of water in it. Boil it for few min until sugar get dissolved. Add 1 or 2 green cardamom for flavor.

Put all the fried jilipi in sugar syrup. Make sure all jilpi deep properly then boil it for 2 -3 mins. Now you just have to keep it for 1 hour so that suger syrup goes inside the jilipi and makes it yummy..

After 1 hour your Chanar Jilipi is ready to serve.
